Cameron County commissioners approve fencing contract, grant resolution, forensic-pathologist agreement and subdivision

The Cameron County commissioners unanimously approved four consent items at their meeting on May 21, 2026, including an intercounty forensic-pathologist agreement, a fencing contract for a county 911 tower, authorization to apply for a Greenways, Trails and Recreation Program grant for the May Hollow Skyway Project, and the Swank Minor Subdivision in Grove Township.
The meeting record shows Commissioner Moate moved to approve an agreement for part-time use of a forensic pathologist from Erie County; Commissioner Zucal seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The agenda and minutes do not specify the monetary terms for that agreement.
Commissioner Zucal moved to approve a contract between Penn Fencing and Cameron County Emergency Management (EMA) to install fencing at the county 911 tower on Monte Fonte Lane in Emporium. Commissioner Moate seconded; the board approved the project, which is budgeted at $15,402.63.
The board also approved Resolution No. 2026-3, which authorizes submission of a Greenways, Trails and Recreation Program (GTRP) grant application for the May Hollow Skyway Project. Commissioner Moate made the motion and Commissioner Zucal seconded; the resolution passed unanimously.
Finally, the commissioners approved the Swank Minor Subdivision in Grove Township as presented by the Planning Commission. Commissioner Herzing moved and Commissioner Zucal seconded the motion; it passed without objection.
Meeting minutes from May 7, 2026, were approved at the start of Thursday’s meeting, and the meeting adjourned at 11:45 a.m. The next regular meeting is scheduled for June 4, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Cameron County Courthouse Commissioners’ Conference Room.
