Tazewell County CPMT approves funding for foster care services, confirms leadership rotation

The Tazewell County Community Policy and Management Team (CPMT) met June 23, 2025, and unanimously approved several routine items and a funding measure to support child welfare services.
Roberta Boyd, CPMT Vice Chair, called the meeting to order at 10:04 a.m. On a motion by Robbie Davis, seconded by Sheri Hale, the group approved the May 19, 2025 meeting minutes. The CPMT also approved the May Fiscal Year 2025 financial report on a motion by Robbie Davis, seconded by Cynthia Hale. Both motions were recorded as passed unanimously.
Members followed local practice for leadership rotation. After reviewing Code of Virginia guidance included in the meeting packet, Sheri Hale moved to follow the rotation of mandated members for CPMT Chair and Vice Chair; Amanda Hildebrandt seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. As a result, Robbie Davis (Tazewell County Juvenile Court Services) will serve as CPMT Chair for the term July 1, 2025–June 30, 2026, and Robin Jackson (Tazewell County Health Department) will serve as Vice Chair.
The CPMT approved the Safe & Stable funds for May 31, 2025 on a motion by Sheri Hale, seconded by Amanda Hildebrandt. Later in the meeting, following a closed‑session review of cases, Cynthia Hale moved and Robbie Davis seconded a motion to approve funding to be provided for Foster Care, Child Protective Services (CPS), Cumberland, Court Services and Tazewell County Schools; that motion carried unanimously.
The group entered closed session to discuss individual cases and funding, then returned to open session and adopted the certification required by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act. The certification vote was recorded as AYES 5, NAYS 0, ABSENT 4.
The CPMT adjourned at 11:40 a.m. The next meeting is scheduled for July 28, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.
