Robbins details water-affordability eligibility and delays reopening of village hall

Mayor Darren E. Bryant told attendees at the Village of Robbins board meeting on Jan. 27 that the village’s water-affordability program will cover residential accounts with outstanding balances of $2,000 or less; commercial accounts and balances above that threshold do not qualify. He said staff are applying funds to qualifying accounts now and that January bills will be issued next month, urging residents to continue paying while balances are reconciled.
Bryant demonstrated how to use the new village website for appointments, economic-development information and water‑billing questions. He directed residents with questions to Village Administrator Korie Dickson at kdickson@robbins-il.com or 708-470-9890 and said the water department can provide account details after staff finish applying program funds.
The mayor also announced the planned reopening of the village hall will not occur by Jan. 31 as earlier anticipated because the building is awaiting delivery of 12 doors. He said staff expect the facility to open in March, pending installation. VA Korie Dickson reiterated that staff are preparing for the return to the hall and noted a finance committee meeting Thursday at 6 p.m. to discuss the fiscal year and audits, followed by a special meeting to consider candidates for a public works director.
