Council approves letter of support for rail-rehab grant application

Committee member 1 said the project could start in the next 12 to 18 months and estimated operations of "probably 2 trains a week" and "about a 100 cars up to not to exceed 25 miles an hour." Committee member 2 added that rail cars currently stored in town would likely be moved and the storage yard would be removed.
Council members said a draft letter of support in the meeting packet looked acceptable and moved and seconded to approve it. The Chair reviewed the document and the motion carried by voice vote.
