Board approves consent agenda, readopts districtwide emergency school safety plan and appoints audit committee member

The Board of Education approved a multi-item consent agenda and a series of routine resolutions at its meeting, including readoption of the districtwide emergency management (school safety) plan for the 2024–25 school year.

Chair convened the meeting and asked for motions to approve consent items A–E (minutes; personnel actions; budget transfers; treasurer’s report; acceptance of recommended special programs and services). A motion and second were recorded and Chair called for the voice vote, which passed with the board responding “All in favor.”

The board then closed a public hearing on the districtwide emergency management/school safety plan and moved to readopt the plan for 2024–25. The readoption motion was moved and seconded and approved by voice vote.

Also approved were: authorization for the superintendent to approve attached out-of-state field trips for the high school debate club for the 2024–25 school year; a resolution authorizing execution of a compensation and benefits statement for a specific employee for 2024–25; and two piggyback procurement authorizations — one to AC Ferrier Electric Motors, Inc., for pump system repairs and one to Page Contracting Corporation (Omnia) for roofing products and job-order contracting. Both piggyback resolutions cited procurement consistency with General Municipal Law §103 as stated in the motion.

The board appointed Rena Beater as a community member of the district audit committee for the 2024–25 school year. In each instance the motions were moved, seconded and approved by voice vote; the transcript records only general “All in favor” outcomes and no roll-call tallies were provided.
