Meredith, the town staff member who presented the proposal, said the consultant would provide initial traffic-engineering assistance ahead of a November DOT meeting where elected officials from affected municipalities will discuss desired outcomes for the Boston Post Road work. The proposal is billed at an hourly rate and Meredith said she did not expect extensive hours for the initial task.
A council member moved to approve the proposal and to authorize the town administrator to execute the agreement and related documents; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
Why it matters: the consultant’s work is intended to inform the town’s input to NYSDOT so officials can request Complete Streets elements they favor when state crews repave the roadway.
