He added he had not yet researched whether the county receives any revenue from the lease and would check historical records.
The adoption came after a motion by Commissioner Atkins and a second by Commissioner Scott. The clerk recorded affirmative roll-call votes from the three commissioners and the presiding judge.
Why it matters: the county's ownership of the land means the fiscal court must approve any change in the operator so new owners are subject to existing lease obligations. The court did not identify immediate revenue implications; staff said that detail requires further record review.
The court did not attach conditions to the approval. The judge said staff would follow up during the break to check whether the meeting notice complied with electronic-meeting visibility rules, an unrelated procedural point raised earlier in the session.
