After approving appointments, a commissioner offered a correction and informed the court that a second young man had died following a local accident. The commissioner identified the latest victim as Daniel Martinez and extended condolences to the Martinez and Musgrave families.
"Unfortunately, we lost another young man in that same accident, had succumb to his injuries at the hospital," the commissioner said. "And, that was Daniel Martinez. And so, unfortunately, we've lost 2, and so our prayers and thoughts go out to, the Martinez family and the Musgrave family of their horrible losses of their sons. And then, obviously, we have the 3rd athlete that is still, from Sanger that is still recovering from his injuries."
The speaker described one person still hospitalized and recovering in Sanger but did not provide further medical details, dates, or the location of the crash. The remark was offered as a correction following earlier remarks; the transcript does not record additional public comment or a formal presentation on the incident. The court adjourned shortly afterward.
