Clearfield County Prison Board names Judge Cherry chair, approves financial reports and meeting schedule

At its Feb. 3 meeting the Clearfield County Prison Board named Judge Cherry chair, appointed Commissioner Sobel vice-chair and Controller Edwards secretary, accepted December financial reports, approved bills, and set the regular meeting calendar with exceptions for February and the May primary.
The Clearfield County Prison Board on Feb. 3 reorganized its leadership and approved routine financial business.
Commissioner Glass moved to name Judge Cherry chairman of the board; Controller Edwards seconded and the motion carried. In the same reorganization, Commissioner Glass moved to appoint Commissioner Sobel as vice-chair and Controller Edwards as secretary; Commissioner Winters seconded and the motion carried.
The board set its regular meeting schedule to the third Tuesday of each month, with two exceptions: the February meeting was scheduled differently because a January meeting was rescheduled into February, and the May meeting was set for May 12 because of the primary election. Commissioner Sobel moved the schedule change, Controller Edwards seconded and the motion carried.
Controller Edwards presented the financial reports for December; Commissioner Glass moved to accept the report and the board approved it. Controller Edwards also reviewed bills for December and moved to approve them as presented; Commissioner Glass seconded and the motion carried.
The board approved the Dec. 16, 2025 meeting minutes after a motion by Commissioner Sobel and a second by Commissioner Winters.
The meeting adjourned at 12:50 p.m.; the board scheduled its next regular meeting for March 17, 2026, in the Commissioners meeting room.
