On second reading the Deerfield Beach City Commission adopted an amendment to chapter 66 (traffic and vehicles), article 2, section 66‑56 to permit back‑in parking in city‑owned parking areas where signage allows it.
The ordinance was presented as a second‑reading item. One resident, Katie Freitag, briefly addressed the commission (noting her personal thanks). After closing public comment the commission voted to adopt the ordinance; the roll call was unanimous.
The ordinance provides for codification and an effective date and directs staff to implement signage where appropriate.
Implementation note: Staff will identify city‑owned parking areas where back‑in parking signage will be posted and will return with any necessary operational guidance.
