ZBA approves shoreline stabilization and wetland‑buffer repairs at 16 Wentworth Road

Jay Aube of TFMoran and Kirsten Borden (Riverside) described the repair work: materials will be barged in where necessary and much of the work will be hand‑dug to limit disturbance. Borden said the approach was designed to minimize impacts to the wetland while improving resilience; "everything will be hand dug," she told the board.
Members noted the Rye Conservation Commission letter and discussed storm resilience, with engineers explaining the design accounted for potential storm surge and ice events. The board concluded the repairs would prevent further erosion and approved the variance under the town’s wetland/buffer provisions by a unanimous vote.
