The Stanley Town Council voted unanimously May 5 to approve an ordinance authorizing the voluntary annexation of Parcel #307000, a roughly 23.76-acre property along Highway 27 South owned by Craig Realty and Development Company.
Planning Director Sarah Penley told the council the parcel currently carries an M-1 Manufacturing and Industrial zoning designation and clarified the site is separate from a nearby Tractor Supply parcel already inside town limits. No residents spoke during the public hearing. The council closed the hearing and approved the ordinance by unanimous vote.
The council did not change the parcels zoning as part of the motion; Penley said the property would remain M-1 if annexed. The decision hands the town jurisdictional authority over future development proposals on the parcel and will require applicants to follow Stanleys local permitting and inspection processes.
The annexation vote followed a standard staff presentation and no public opposition; the council took no additional conditions or amendments when adopting the ordinance. The town clerk recorded the motion and the measure carried 5-0.
