I called into the township today to express my concerns/frustrations with the one lane bridge at Yeakel’s Mill Road and route 100. This bridge is a major safety concern and an accident waiting to happen,” Mitchell wrote in the correspondence included in the minutes. She described drivers running the stop sign and vehicles stacking across the bridge, and she asked the board to share her email with township supervisors.
Board members noted the bridge had been replaced within the last five to ten years and that decisions about lane configuration involved other government or environmental agencies, limiting the township’s options for reconstruction. Township staff were directed to investigate additional signage options and to paint a stop bar on the approach opposite Route 100 to caution motorists prior to crossing.
