Preston BOE adopts revised tuition, recruitment and field-trip policies

The Preston Board of Education voted unanimously on Jan. 12 to adopt three revised policies at second reading: Policy 3240 (Tuition Fees), Policy 4211 (Recruitment) and Policy 6153 (Field Trips).
Board members recorded the motions and seconds in the public minutes: the motion to adopt Policy 3240 was Harris/Serra; Policy 4211 was moved by Serra and seconded by McNamara; and Policy 6153 was adopted with McNamara’s requested modifications (recorded as Namara/Koniecko). Each motion passed unanimously.
The Board did not provide policy text changes in the public minutes; members said the revisions were presented at second reading and accepted as amended where noted. The district’s superintendent and staff will post adopted policy language and next steps according to standard practice.
The Board continues to re-establish standing committees and emphasized the need for a Policy Subcommittee to handle future revisions and reviews. Charles Raymond volunteered to serve on that subcommittee.
