Ennis said the Board exited executive session at 7:14 p.m. and that “no action was taken regarding the personnel matter discussed in executive session.” The Board then voted unanimously to appoint Heather Helwig to the vacant seat; Ennis called the public meeting to order at 7:15 p.m.
Ennis told attendees the Board will implement changes in protocol and procedure going forward. Dr. Roy Seitsinger, the superintendent, also noted that this meeting was the district’s first that could be viewed virtually and said staff will work to smooth the new process.
Helwig’s appointment was approved unanimously; the motion to exit executive session was recorded as Serra/Koniecko with a unanimous vote, and the Board did not record any contrary action on the personnel matter. The appointment will last through November 2027. The Board did not provide additional public details about the personnel matter discussed in executive session.
The meeting concluded with routine business and public comment; the Board adjourned at 8:48 p.m.
