Committee approves grant award for Town of Union after paperwork error

Chair John Pedretti called the Vernon County Special Economic Development Committee to order at 9:00 a.m. on June 20, 2024, and the committee approved an additional 2024 Community Development Grant award for the Town of Union.

Amy Oliver, Community Development Director, told the committee that the Town of Union submitted its grant application before the deadline but the paperwork was filed incorrectly and the project was not reviewed. After the Review Committee evaluated the application, it recommended the project for funding. Committee member Kevin Larson moved to approve the award; Bruce Kilmer seconded the motion and the committee approved it unanimously. The transcript does not specify the dollar amount of the award.

The action was recorded as a formal motion and vote; seven members were present for the roll call (John Pedretti; Nathaniel Slack; Bruce Kilmer; Katie Helseth, remote; Tom Weston, remote; Kevin Larson; Karen Dahl, remote) and two members were absent (David Strudthoff and Patrick Sullivan).
