The University of California Board of Regents adopted a resolution of appreciation for Regent Richard Leeb on March 17, recognizing his service since joining the board in 2018 and his role as chair of the board from March 2022 to June 2024.
Chair Riley introduced the resolution and moved its adoption; the board approved the measure by roll call amid applause. Regent Leeb then addressed the board, reflected on his upbringing in Los Angeles and education at UC Santa Barbara, praised chancellors and staff and highlighted the work on innovation and entrepreneurship that he helped lead.
Regent Leeb thanked colleagues and staff, singled out regent Lark Park and chief of staff Trisha Lyall for contributions, and pledged continued support for the university’s mission. The resolution vote was recorded by roll call and the board recessed into subsequent business.
