"Legal review is very important but we cannot let legal become an open-ended holding pattern," Connley said. "Parents deserve clarity on what legal questions are being reviewed, what standards or precedents are being evaluated, timeline for the legal review, will the study session be scheduled, and will the board be taking final action?"
Connley characterized a prior district decision in October 2022 to allow biological males to compete in girls’ sports as a significant policy shift with "real consequences for female athletes," and she asked the board for monthly status reports to restore public confidence.
