Commissioners say regional EMS study under review; plan meeting on Penn Highlands patient-transport decision

Commissioner 1 told the board that Workforce Solutions and county partners collected four requests for qualifications for a regional EMS study from MCM Consulting Group, Kenova Consulting, Hannifan & Associates and Cambridge Consulting Group and that the selection of the awardee would be announced later in the week. "We received RFQs from four different firms," the commissioner said.
The commissioner also said Senator Federman’s office had contacted the county about a recent decision by Penn Highlands concerning interfacility patient transport. The county plans to arrange a meeting that will include the senator’s office, the commissioners and the Cameron County ambulance director to assess the decision’s effects on local service providers and residents.
No formal action on the hospital decision was taken at the meeting; commissioners described the next step as coordination and information gathering.
