Pasadena ISD honors CTE partners, students and student councils
Summary
Trustees recognized regional Career and Technical Education partners and student achievements, honoring a Pasadena police supervisor, the Pasadena Chamber CEO and Sam Raburn High School programs, and announced 17 campuses earned TSA leadership recognition.
Trustees used part of the Sept. 24 meeting to recognize community partners, instructors and student leadership across Pasadena ISD.
Tanya Hagar, executive director of Career and Technical Education, introduced regional awards chosen by CTE administrators. She recognized Preston Moody, a PSO supervisor with the Pasadena Police Department, for recruitment and mentorship of CTE students; Christina Wilmac, president and CEO of the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce, was named 2024 Champion for CTE in the region for supporting job fairs and fundraising that benefit district programs. Hagar also recognized the Sam Raburn High School agriculture mechanics program and instructors David Gutierrez and Noah Shram Phelps for winning regional honors and placing at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo competitions.
The board also applauded 17 campuses and their sponsors for receiving TSA student-leadership awards and noted four campuses had earned American Student Council Association School of Excellence honors. Board members and the superintendent thanked staff, community partners and students for their contributions.
