Roscoe updates cleanup, emergency coordination after tornado; waste-management schedules adjusted

Public works and public-safety staff told trustees they are continuing cleanup and response work after recent storm/tornado impacts. Troy, speaking for public works, said crews began hauling major tree debris from Hawks Point and will coordinate additional pickup routes with Waste Management, which is deploying extra trucks for scheduled debris removal. Trustees were asked to publicize temporary no-parking guidance to allow trucks to access blocked areas.

Sam (public-safety staff) described extra police units assigned over the weekend and said officers will staff an event booth to provide fraud-prevention guidance to residents seeking contractors. Trustees were urged to direct residents to the village website and to an Illinois Emergency Management Agency damage-reporting form to support potential disaster-relief and SBA loan eligibility assessments. Officials also said the EOC (Emergency Operations Center) had been activated and that coordination with Red Cross, county emergency services and neighboring departments supported rapid response and resource deployment.

Trustees were asked to notify residents in affected subdivisions, encourage use of official reporting forms and to contact village staff about specific households that may need targeted assistance such as health-department follow-up.
