Officials said planning commission, the industrial development authority and conservation stakeholders reviewed early drafts and provided comments that were incorporated. The hearing is intended to gather public comment that could influence final language; the board said it would decide whether to move from public comment to a formal vote after reviewing input and any additional legal guidance.
The county encouraged residents to read the draft, attend the hearing and offer comments; the commission did not take formal action to amend the ordinance during this meeting.
