The board approved a professional-services agreement with MSA Professional Services Inc. to update Dallas County's comprehensive plan. The contract is a lump-sum agreement for $118,755 (project number R2258001) with a 15-month working schedule; staff noted the schedule could stretch beyond 15 months if the board pauses the process to accommodate incoming supervisors.
The scope includes five phases with steering-committee and technical-committee meetings, targeted outreach to large landowners and farm groups, pop-up public events, in-person and online engagement, and monthly invoicing. Staff said $20,000 is budgeted in the current fiscal year and $100,000 is budgeted next fiscal year, covering the contract total.
"There'll be steering and technical committee meetings...we'll have in-person and online public engagement," a staff presenter said. The board approved the contract and authorized the chair to sign.
