County staff report election readiness, budget timeline and community events

County staff told commissioners the county's voting machines completed logic-and-accuracy testing and a state mock election successfully processed county files, leaving the equipment ready for election day.
Treasurer's reports and budget work were also discussed. Staff said departments have submitted their budget requests on schedule and that county leaders will review revenue projections, health insurance and benefit programs before finalizing recommendations. The board aims to complete budget work by Nov. 6 but said the absolute deadline is Nov. 18 if additional time is needed.
Commissioners reported several community items: the vendor for courthouse vending machines is dissolving and will remove machines in the coming weeks; an upcoming Oct. 21 vocational celebration tied to National Disability Employment Awareness Month was promoted; and the courthouse will host a Hall of Fame event later in the month. Staff also described CCAP-funded projects already completed or underway, including sidewalk repairs, rec-center roof work, secured office entry and improved camera coverage.
No formal decisions were taken beyond those recorded elsewhere on the agenda. Commissioners closed with 'good of the order' remarks and adjourned the meeting at 11:42 a.m.
