Newton County Commissioners tabled a proposed contract with Clear.gov for budgeting software after the auditor’s office and commissioners said they needed another demonstration to confirm compatibility with existing NetData accounting systems.
A county representative said the vendor will return for an additional demonstration and the auditor’s office requested verification that the new software would integrate with the county’s current financial data processes. The court moved to table the contract; the motion was seconded and the court approved the tabling.
Commissioners said replacing the county’s aging budgeting tools is a priority, and they discussed the broader need to move off legacy NetData systems to software that all offices can use. The tabling preserves the option to revisit the contract after the auditor and other stakeholders review the vendor’s demonstration.
