Dolores County commissioners approve permits, ratify ambulance‑board appointments and add contingency to subdivision exemption

At its Dec. 22 meeting, the Dolores County Board of County Commissioners approved routine permits for 2025–2026, ratified prior appointments to the Dub Creek Ambulance Board of Directors and modified an earlier subdivision-exemption approval to require the applicant’s signed authority before recording.

The board voted to approve 2025–2026 permits and certified the 2026 budget year. Later, commissioners passed Resolution 12-25-18 to ratify appointments to the Dub Creek Ambulance Board that had been taken on the record at a Nov. 24 meeting; staff said the written resolution was prepared to satisfy a DOA request that the appointment be memorialized in a resolution. Commissioners emphasized the Nov. 24 vote itself had already occurred and that the resolution simply confirms those appointments.

Earlier in the meeting the board moved to approve Resolution 12-25-01, a subdivision exemption for John Black, but commissioners later learned Mr. Black had not appeared to sign required documents. The board voted to modify that prior approval so it is contingent on Mr. Black signing the statement of authority and the plat before recording. No recorded change to the substance of the exemption was made; the modification places an administrative condition on final recording.

What it means: The ratification resolves a DOA paperwork request for the ambulance district; the subdivision action allows the board to proceed while protecting the county by requiring the applicant’s signed authority and plat before staff records the exemption.
