Staff said the county plans to haul and stockpile the material at strategic county pits and yards to reduce double handling during projects, and estimated it would take roughly 700 truckloads to move the donated material before the county’s road construction season. Staff identified an estimated market value that was read on the record as about $250,000 for the volume offered.
Commissioners discussed logistics, hauling capacity, and the potential to contract independent haulers if county crews needed assistance. The court approved acceptance of the donation unanimously and instructed staff to coordinate hauling and stockpiling ahead of the spring road season.
