Harrison County's commissioners on Feb. 12 approved a package of land-use and roads items presented by the Road & Bridge representative, Mr. Pal.
Mr. Pal told the court the department completed nearly 400 tons of oil-dirt overlay in January, used roughly 40 tons of Type D asphalt for pothole repairs, and installed multiple culverts. He said the department is awaiting millings from a vendor that have been delayed by weather and that staff are finalizing the year's construction and sealcoat lists.
Following that update, the court approved personnel changes for Road & Bridge (one new hire, a boom-axe operator; the department reported 43 full-time staff and 11 vacancies). Commissioners also approved multiple utility-permit applications (Tri-State NLA LLC, Frontier Communications and Gum Springs Water Supply Corporation), the preliminary plat for Sunset Acre subdivision at County Road 1308 and FM 1186, and two private-road issuance orders (No. 93 to correct addressing after a road vacation and No. 94 to designate a shared driveway as a private road so 911 addressing can be assigned).
Each motion passed by voice vote and was recorded as approved by the court.
