Facilities report: JBAC bubble near completion, maintenance throughput high; JCP&L scheduling delaying lights
Summary

Facilities staff updated the board on capital and operational projects, reporting the seasonal JBAC inflatable facility is nearly complete and that routine work-order throughput remains high.
“It's up. It looks great. The inside is almost complete and we are on target for our December 1st starting of the season,” facilities staff said about the JBAC (bubble) project and credited prior experience for operational planning.
Operations director Mr. Madigan reported roughly 785 incoming work orders in October and said 986 work orders were completed across September and October — an average of about 42 completed work orders per day — and offered to provide monthly breakdowns by trade. He said facilities could provide more granular reporting to the board on outstanding and long‑running tickets.
The facilities team also described delays in powering field lights caused by JCP&L scheduling (DCOMU tracking numbers) and said they contacted Assemblyman McGucken’s office for assistance; staff expect resolution within 24–48 hours after updated outreach.
Why it matters: The update shows active capital maintenance and operational work for the large district; the power hookup delay affects athletic field readiness and highlights dependence on external utilities.
What’s next: Facilities will provide more detailed trade-level work-order reports monthly and continue to pursue utility scheduling with external partners and legislative assistance if needed.
