Court accepts resignation, approves appointment and pays comp time; tables sheriff truck contract

The court also considered a request to pay out accumulated comp time for Britney Luna in the District Attorney’s office. Commissioners discussed years‑old accumulated comp time, available budget lines and the DA’s staffing needs. On the record, the court approved paying the comp time and the judge said a budget amendment would move funds from the DA clerical line to cover the payout.
A separate contract with American National Leasing for a 2024 F‑150 for the sheriff’s office remained inaccessible for signature during the meeting; the court voted to table that contract until the next meeting so staff can obtain and review the paperwork.
Finally, the court approved payment of the bills on the docket after a discussion about a previously adopted outgoing‑commissioner monthly spending limit and a pledge to clarify enforcement and communication for future spending limits.
