Refendum projects: staff reports 40 unresolved items after July 2 walkthrough; contractors to address before September

District buildings-and-grounds staff reported outstanding construction and closeout work on referendum sites and described next steps after a recent onsite walkthrough.
Staff said final closeout documents for energy-management and referendum projects have been sent and that final credit change orders and payments are being processed for several sites. During a July 2 walkthrough at High School South and two other locations, staff and district representatives compiled a list of roughly 40 significant incomplete items and warranty issues that contractors had not finished. "We came up with a showing a list of 40 very significant things that were not completed and that have to be completed," a buildings staff speaker said.
The district said contractors (named in the session) will begin addressing items immediately, with work scheduled to continue through the week and a goal of turning issues around within two to three weeks so that remaining items are completed before schools open in September. Buildings staff also reported that other site work (coping replacement at site 202, removal of solar-panel assemblies at Intermediate South, lead-water testing and other vendor meetings) is ongoing.
Board members asked for timelines and confirmation that the work would be complete by September; staff replied they expect the items to be resolved prior to opening, with contractors on-site starting immediately.
What happens next: district buildings staff will monitor corrective work, process final change orders and finalize closeouts and payments once the outstanding items are corrected.
