The Lincoln County Board of County Commissioners held a regularly scheduled meeting March 25 in the Eureka annex and approved a series of routine minutes, contracts and land‑use actions that will guide near‑term county operations.
In a series of formal votes the board approved minutes for a March 16 special meeting and the March 18 regular meeting; authorized payment of a late claim from the law firm Schwab Williamson Wyatt for $1,050; and voted to accept bylaws for the Lincoln County Fair Board that county counsel had reviewed. The motions carried after brief discussion and no public comment on the items.
The board also approved a motion to advance funding from PILT (Payment in Lieu of Taxes) to pay for a temporary Keeler Creek Bridge project up front; County Commissioner Jim said the state indicated it will reimburse the county within several weeks, and the county will deposit reimbursements into the emergency fund once received. The board moved to begin the project with county funds and to monitor emergency‑fund balances.
On procurement, the commissioners awarded the concession/visitor‑stand contract at the falls to Main Street Perk & Pub, an existing retail food operator. Health department staff told the board that water and wastewater capacity and food‑safety risk are the controlling licensing issues; the approved contract will include wastewater and licensing requirements to ensure compliance before full operations begin.
During a public hearing the board adopted Resolution 2026‑10, rescinding Resolution 2026‑07 and canceling the special‑purpose district election that a Park District had previously requested be run by the county. The elections office indicated it had no objection to rescinding the resolution.
In planning actions the board granted a variance to allow an 80‑foot dock at Bull Lake (Butler Lakeshore application) and conditionally approved a Buildings‑for‑Lease‑or‑Rent application for Swanson Lodge (Swanson Lodge / Herman family holdings), both subject to the conditions recommended by Planning staff.
The board also opened multiple bids for airport pavement and access‑road maintenance projects in Eureka and Libby and forwarded the packages to county engineers for review and recommendation.
The meeting ended after public comment and the board adjourned. County staff will prepare contracts and forward bid documents to engineers for formal recommendation and award.
