The chairman, Michael Pund, left a recorded message instructing the bidder to contact Lee Hinley, the county's emergency personnel head, and saying, "we cannot accept your bid of $50,000; we would be willing to take $90,000" if the bidder could meet that price. The board did not accept or reject the ambulance sale at the meeting; commissioners said they would monitor incoming bids, consider counteroffers and revisit the item at the next meeting if necessary.
