The Daniels County Board of Commissioners approved a set of routine and project measures during its Aug. 5 meeting.
Commissioners unanimously approved payroll and journal vouchers for the period. The board also approved a motion to hire Colton Gold Nelson for the road department pending standard pre-employment checks, and authorized purchase of an oil cooler for a recently acquired mower after Road Supervisor Michael Berson reported overheating that impedes mid-day mowing operations. "I would love to stick him in a mower for 2 months," Berson said of the hire; commissioners voted to proceed.
The board approved an airport grant amendment and associated reimbursement and federal financial reports as a package. Later the commissioners signed a notice to proceed on the Cold Creek Bridge construction contract with Sentry Companies; documents presented to the board reflect a contract package and an earlier structure payment the board discussed during contract review. The board recorded that the contractor intends to begin demolition the week of Aug. 5.
Other administrative items approved included budget appropriation documents for unanticipated revenue and a routine certification form confirming county employment for a staff member's Public Service Loan Forgiveness paperwork.
All recorded motions at the meeting carried without recorded opposition.
