The commissioners approved a construction agreement and issued a notice to proceed for a county landfill container site. The contractor (Les) presented a revised contract price of approximately $262,800 after deducting road- and gravel-related line items. The contractor explained remaining line items (mobilization, earthwork, concrete work and gates/fencing), and county staff and the contractor discussed the expectation that Daniels County will supply pit‑run gravel and do the road-building work associated with the project.
Project schedule described at the meeting: survey and layout followed by footing pours (anticipated around July 23–24), wall pours at the end of the month, slab pours the following week, and fence/gate installation to follow; overall completion estimated in mid‑August, subject to material availability and concrete-cylinder strength tests.
Commissioners approved the construction agreement by motion and second; chair signed the agreement and staff will provide copies to the contractor. The county’s road crew and contractor will coordinate delivery and placement of gravel; contractor requested invoices and payment timing to align with the county’s claims schedule.
