Lincoln County approves retroactive engineering contract and routine claims

The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners unanimously moved on Jan. 28 to finalize a five‑year engineering services agreement with Evson Engineering that staff said was negotiated after an RFQ in early 2025 but never signed in a public meeting. The board characterized the vote as a records correction to formalize work the county has already been receiving.

A county official told commissioners the contract’s effective date would have been Feb. 27, 2025, and that the firm had provided services during the intervening period. "We didn't realize it until we were looking for a signed copy that it had never been officially approved by the commission," the official said. A commissioner moved and the board approved the contract.

The board also approved two claims from outside counsel related to litigation against the county. One invoice, listed in meeting materials as Magnolia Properties v. Lincoln County, was $4,762; the other was listed at $796.10 for a different case. Commissioners moved and approved payment of both claims.

Each motion passed by voice vote with no public speakers on those items, and staff said signed copies and routine notifications will be completed for the record. The board did not identify roll‑call votes in the minutes provided during the meeting.
