County approves conveyance of abandoned road strip to U.S. Forest Service, conditions Forest Service letter on access

Staff said the road is overgrown and not maintained; private property owners access their land via Nixon Road (also called Forest Service Road 14433), which staff said is open year-round and does not currently require a permit for general use. The board placed a condition on its approval: staff must secure a written letter from the Forest Service confirming they do not intend to close or restrict Nixon Road access.
A nearby private landowner who attended the hearing identified himself as Dan Bers and said he had no objection so long as perpetual access via Nixon Road remains. With no public opposition, the board approved the conveyance and directed staff to tidy the resolution package and attach the Forest Service correspondence when received.
