Board members and staff discussed a recent change in Montana law requiring some elections to state the dollar amount to be raised rather than only stating mills. Commissioners instructed the park board to remove confusing language about a simultaneous issuance of general-obligation bonds and to supply a clean, edited draft showing the required dollar amount. The board agreed the levy would be imposed immediately if approved by voters.
The draft included illustrative homeowner impacts (about $5.40 annually on a $100,000 home under the four-mill example). Commissioners also clarified that the levy would apply only within the Libby School District boundaries (School District 4) rather than across all of Lincoln County. Staff requested the final language by the end of the month to draft a resolution and route it through legal review.
