Commissioners approve amended and final plats; schedule hearing on Forest Service road abandonment

Lincoln County commissioners approved several land‑use items on Dec. 3, including an amended family‑transfer plat in Troy and two final plats, and heard preliminary notice on a Forest Service road‑abandonment request.

Staff presented an amended plat for a family transfer in the Solalis subdivision in Troy and recommended approval with nine conditions — including fuel‑reduction work and noxious‑weed control — and notice to adjacent property owners. No public opposition was offered and the board approved the amended plat.

The board also approved the final plat for the Industrial Approach subdivision in Eureka, presented by a 406 Engineering representative who participated online; the plat allows a mix of light‑manufacturing, commercial and residential uses and includes a parkland dedication. Commissioners next approved Wilderness Club Phase 9 final plat after a minor clerical correction to the staff report (condition language referencing 160 acres rather than 60).

Staff then introduced a Forest Service request to abandon another section of a county road running through government lots 7 and 8; staff observed the route is overgrown and not evidently used, said adjacent private owners will be notified, and indicated a public hearing and subsequent resolution would be scheduled (tentatively for the first week of January).

Votes at a glance: commissioners moved and seconded each plat approval and recorded votes of "I" from consenting commissioners; one earlier vote on minutes recorded a single opposition remark from a commissioner. No public testimony opposed the plats on the day of the meeting.
