The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners on Oct. 1 adopted Resolution 2025-32 to annex a 155.08-acre property into the Troy Rural Fire District following a statutorily required public hearing and notice process.
Clerk read the petition and resolution materials, which cited petition 317150 submitted Aug. 29, 2025 and the statutory authority of MCA 7-33-2125. The property was described in the petition as HS 581 in Section 23, Township 30 North, Range 34 West, comprising 155.08 acres and identified by the address 803 North Fork Keila Road, Troy, Montana.
The resolution notes that notice of the hearing was published in the county’s public notice outlets in September and posted in required locations. County staff said no protest petition meeting the statutory thresholds (signed by at least 40% of owners and representing at least 40% of taxable value) was presented at the hearing.
A commissioner observed that, according to the map, the property is most practically accessed from Troy rather than Lake, and the board discussed that point briefly before moving to a vote. A motion to approve Resolution 2025-32 carried by voice vote with no protests recorded.
The resolution formally annexes the described property into the Troy Rural Fire District; staff will complete ministerial processing with the clerk and recorder.
