The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners adopted Resolution 2025-33 on Sept. 24, 2025, altering the boundaries of the Eureka Fire Service Area to include specified parcels in the Upper Pinkham Creek area, Douglas Hill/Rose area and Phils Lake area.
Staff read the resolution aloud and cited the county’s statutory authority under 7-33-241, Montana Code Annotated, to establish, alter or dissolve fire service areas and noted that notice and public hearings had been held in accordance with 7-1-2121 MCA. Staff reported no written protests from owners of more than 50% of the properties in the proposed addition, allowing the board to proceed.
A commissioner moved to adopt Resolution 2025-33, another seconded, and the board approved it by voice vote. Staff said only comments received during the process came from the fire department itself and there were no negative comments reported at the hearings. The resolution references a boundary map and lists included parcels in the resolution text.
