County and Trail Mix discuss 128 Road lane restrictions and bike-path damage after vehicle impact

County and partner updates at the March 10 Trail Mix meeting described two related infrastructure issues: short-term lane restrictions on 128 River Road to repair a bike-path gap, and a separate vehicle impact that damaged the bike-path protective rail and substructure.
County staff said 128 River Road will be reduced to one travel lane until Oct. 31 to complete repairs, with daytime waits of about 15 minutes and night waits up to 30 minutes reported in the meeting. The work is intended to fill a gap in the bike path and add bridge work; funding and sequencing were discussed in general terms.
Separately, staff reported that a vehicle struck the bike-path garden-rail protection, ripping posts and compromising the underlying rock-basket foundation. Committee members said county staff and insurance are engaged in recovery planning; volunteers may be asked to help with interim measures while repairs and funding are resolved.
Members urged caution on the route while repairs proceed and requested follow-up updates from county engineering staff.
