Appraisal board to reclassify contractual dollars to pay new investigator

Jacobs said the board wants to move $125,000 from contractual to salaries for FY27 to cover the investigator’s salary and to provide room for future raises; the board representatives said the move would be a one‑time transfer and that contracting needs should decline once the investigator is on staff.
Members asked for updated budget worksheets and cautioned the board to confirm the requested transfer in the Legislative Budget Office system so requested changes are visible to the committee. No vote was taken.
