The Shopping Area Redevelopment Board approved replacing the exterior sign at 51 E. Main so the tenant can change its business identification from Coldwell Banker to MI Real Estate Management.
Marketing Director deRoo introduced Jessica Hurst, representing Holland Custom Signs, and said Coldwell Banker is changing real estate firms and "they would be using the same shape sign with existing sign mounting holes being filled and repainted by the tenant." deRoo said Holland Custom Signs will handle the demolition and installation is expected in March or April.
Board member Barnes moved to "approve removing existing 'Coldwell Banker' sign and replace with new business identification signage for MI Real Estate Management of the same size, scale, and installation method," and VanHoven supported the motion. "All present voting aye," the minutes record; the motion carried.
The board then closed the public hearing at 9:09 A.M. The file does not specify the tenant's individual name beyond the party seeking the sign permit or any permit numbers.
The decision authorizes installation under the same size and mounting method as the previous sign; the tenant is responsible for filling and repainting the old mounting holes, and Holland Custom Signs is to perform demolition and install the new sign.
