Planning commission elects Chair Pro Tem, hears bylaws review plan and short‑term rental enforcement briefing

Planning staff briefed the commission on short‑term rental (Airbnb) rules recently adopted by the Board of County Commissioners. Jason Reynolds said the ordinance includes a “legacy” path allowing existing short‑term rental operators to seek licenses and described enforcement arrangements. The county has contracted with Host Compliance to receive complaints and contact local responsible agents; licensees must provide a local agent able to respond promptly to complaints. Reynolds said legacy licenses may continue until transfer of ownership, at which point legacy status expires.
Commissioners noted neighborhood complaints about noise and events and asked how the county will handle response times and event uses; staff said Host Compliance will staff a hotline and will contact licensees or local agents, and the sheriff’s office remains an enforcement backstop for criminal or public‑safety complaints.
Announcements: staff flagged a comprehensive plan amendment hearing on June 16 and a Lemora pipeline‑connections hearing on July 7.
