Lamesa council canvasses May 2 election returns, sets June 13 runoff for District 3

Mayor Hayden Davis opened the meeting and said it was “being held in accordance with the provisions of the Texas Open Meetings Act (Texas Govt. Code, Chapter 551).” Council member Bobby G. Gonzales gave the invocation and led the pledges.
Council member Bobby G. Gonzales moved to adopt a resolution canvassing the returns of the May 2 general election; James Grayson seconded the motion. The agenda included delivery of Certificates of Election and administering the oath of office to the newly elected councilmembers for District 2 and District 6; one newly elected member for District 2 (Albert Martinez) was listed as absent in the record.
