Brookhaven receives $13 million from ARC for Peachtree Creek Greenway Phase II

During announcements at the May 14 meeting, staff informed the Brookhaven Development Authority that the city received $13,000,000 from the Atlanta Regional Commission for the construction portion of Phase II of the Peachtree Creek Greenway.
"We received $13,000,000 for the 2nd phase of the Peachtree Creek Greenway," Mr. Sarawitz said, and he credited Patty Hansen for her work securing the funding. Staff said ARC previously contributed design and right-of-way money and that this award covers construction, the largest piece needed to advance the project.
Board members congratulated staff and noted other ARC-funded road and roundabout projects in the city. Staff said the authority has a strong record of delivering ARC-funded projects and will continue to coordinate multiple ongoing transportation and greenway efforts.
The board did not take additional votes on the greenway at the meeting but discussed the funding as a key development for city infrastructure and connectivity.
