A member of the Circle of Honor committee asked the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board to consider adding a low-impact trail and short boardwalk overlooks to the wetland east of the Circle of Honor as a Phase 2 expansion.
The commenter said the wetland is a key part of the original Circle of Honor vision and would provide a reflective and environmental-education component. “The wetland is a unique and diversified ecosystem in its own right,” the speaker said, asking the board to schedule a presentation and to allow backup material (aerials and sketches) before a vote.
A board member moved to add a presentation from committee representatives (listed in the request as Mr. Williams or Mr. English) about Phase 2 to the next meeting; Chair Joan Morgan seconded the motion and the board voted aye to add the item. Members discussed phasing the work to match grant opportunities and budget realities.
Next steps: staff and committee representatives will prepare materials (aerial photos, concept sketches, and estimated costs) for a future advisory-board meeting; any construction or conservation actions would require additional approvals and funding.
