At its Jan. 27 meeting the Preston Planning & Zoning Commission approved multiple administrative permits and actions.
A motion by Anne Sabrowski to approve Zoning Permit #2025‑05 (Lai Metzger, 8 Pequot Street) for an additional bedroom in a previously permitted short‑term rental carried unanimously; staff reported no parking or complaint issues. The Commission also approved Zoning Permit #2026‑01L (Keith and Alicia Clinton, 203 Old Jewett City Road) to update an address for a home‑based federal firearms license and to allow online sales with in‑person transfers limited to legally required transfer procedures; the Commission required clarifying language removing references to informal in‑person sales.
Separately the Commission voted to release the bond for 212 Route 2 after staff confirmed trailers were removed. The Planning & Zoning budget was reviewed for information and members were reminded about required training hours. The meeting adjourned at 8:41 P.M.
