Centennial committee outlines weekend events, map and time capsule plans

A representative of the centennial planning committee briefed the board on final logistics for Fox Point’s centennial celebration taking place that weekend. The committee reported three bus tours are booked (with cancellations and a waiting list), and that a historical map will be available as a poster at the event and as a PDF on the village website.
The event program will include opening remarks by President Semcich, proclamations from the governor and county executive, a citation presented by District Supervisor Ed O’Connor, short historical remarks and the unveiling of a time capsule. Sponsors (six to date), VIP seating, photographers and refreshments were confirmed.
The committee will send a remaining email blast before the event, and photographs and materials will be archived in the time capsule and in a printed commemorative book.
